Linear Accelorator

Project Info

2006

Two tubular forms suspended from the arches of the subway platforms were created. Positioned throughout the matrixes are over 800 LED lights. The structure itself acts as a circuit, eliminating the need for cumbersome wiring and allowing the aesthetic to prevail. This interactive LED lighting technology designed by Mid-Ocean, allows for custom lighting and response to the environment. These sculptures respond to the movement of commuters and trains via video signal.
